What do you think about Lenovo Thinkpad 8? Do you have any opinion about it?
    That is my choice.

The Lenovo Thinkpad 8 is great. It has an 8.3-inch display at 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor running Windows 8.1. A true all in one tablet and PC, you can use it on the move and when you get back to base, connect it to a Full HD monitor using its micro-HDMI socket and continue working on your files and desktop applications. There is no need to move your files from your tablet to the cloud and back to your PC. It’s essentially all in one place already.

Like all the Windows 8.1 tablets reviewed here, if you are not a power crazy user, these tablets will fulfill all your daily task requirements; browsing the web, checking and replying emails, running desktop applications. working on productivity apps, thin clients, remote desktop access and then some.

Thanks, we have updated the article to include a handful of new Windows 8.1 tablets while retaining the soon to be end of line yet still very good and capable tablets available at lower prices.

If you have come across any new 8-inch Windows 8 tablets you would like to see compared with what’s here, please do leave us a comment and let us know.

i need a windows tablet with a more robust charging port than microusb ( got a pile of bricks that used to be dell venue 8 pro with working microusb ports ) any suggestions that cost less than £1000 ? smaller the better but must run windows and be under £500. only one i can find is linx 10.1 but its a bit too big. thanks.

barny hope you found your tablet… I know what you mean about the microUSB port being unsuitable for regular use/charging.

have no idea why manufacturers do that on so many devices like phones and tablets. It makes no sense to me. The connection terminals are so thin in microUSB that eventually the gold either wears off or you end up with an oxidised connection, or broken one. It would make more sense using miniUSB which is a lot more robust if intending it for charging.

There are some tablets I have noticed do use priority connectors for power (barrel style) and Prestigio is one such tablet maker. Maybe you should be looking for a tablet like that?

Since you posted, there has been a lot of newcomers in the Windows tablet market, and there’s LOADS of tablets now well under £500 on the market. You don’t say what screen size and spec you want though.

So out of all of these there is only one that attempts to have good audio out of the headphone jack (Lenovo Yoga 2)? Are there any others?
